Yes, there is a fan in the rear of all Westy 3-way fridges. It is active in all three modes, not just propane mode. It only comes on when the fins on the back of the fridge get hot. There is a temperature switch screwed to one of the fins and this turns the fan on and off as needed. The fan MUST come on at least some of the time or the fridge will never stay cool for long. Some of the fans are pretty quiet but most are easy to hear when you are in the back. If you never hear this when camped, your fridge isn't operating properly.( or maybe you don't camp where it is quiet!)
