nah. in true german/austrian flavor, check out http://www.eurotruck-importer.com/trucks.htm and check out the Pinzgauer ... even looks like a Vanagon. ;) and it's air-cooled!!

or check out the Unimog.

and they're fairly cheap (to buy!! wait til you want to buy parts for them, i'll bet!) ... less than $10,000.

of course, a Syncro really IS a Vanagon, and has a lot of compatible parts. :)
