The German kits use velcro and snaps for the side screen and rear screen.

I can order the rear screens, but I have not been stocking them for the Vanagon. I do have them for the EuroVan.

The snaps hold the screen in place, and keep you from pulling off the velcro. The velcro seals up the gaps and keeps out the bugs. The German screening is fine enough to keep out the noseeums.
