A quote from the Book... "Keep this book in your glove compartment" by Motorman Leon Kaplan

From the Chapter "Common Automotive Myths"

Myth; It's easier on your automatic transmission if you put it into neutral every time you stop.

This does not have any positive effect on your transmission, and the constant gear changing may even have an adverse effect on the life of your transmission. With manual transmissions, you'll notice less wear if you leave your car in gear (with the clutch in) while at a stop as opposed to putting it in neutral and disengaging the clutch.

That's one man's opinion in his book.... at least it will give you some quality arguing time with your wife..(^:)... when I was younger & drove Limo's part time (between film jobs) and people in the back would start telling me how to drive.... I use to smile and say.... and who has the wheel in their hands and is controlling this vehicle?
