hello all. I just replaced the clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing in my 87 syncro because I was having trouble shifting into 3rd and 4th gear. It would grind going into these gears and especially shifting into 3rd from 4th. I replaced the slave cylinder for the clutch and pressure bled the whole system also. I thought the only thing left to do is replace all the clutch components but alas I must have been wrong. When I took the drain plug out of the trans. to change the gear oil, I found a bunch of metal pieces stuck to the magnet on the plug. What I think this could be is possibly the syncros for 3rd and 4th. Any ideas anyone.? Todd Hill, what do you think? and how much for a rebuild? I no doubt am looking at a lot of money but at least I have a very clean tranny(steam cleaned) and new clutch components. Thanks in advance for all your help Nigel 87 syncro |
