YIKES!!! I've heard stories about places like this, where they stripped the oil drain or the drain plug, or forgot to replace the dipstick, but your's is by far the most horrific. I ONCE took a '82 Rabbit LS I owned to a Quick-lube and after the oil and filter were changed and everything paid for, I popped the hood to check the oil level. I found the oil fill cap on sitting on top of the engine and the dipstick on top of the radiator. Replaced both and went in to complain to the manager. I was told that this happens now and then, when they get busy, but since the car was only driven from the ramp to the parking lot - maybe 100 ft. - there was no harm done. Essentially, he told me to bug off. Never have been back to one since. Alan Bosch & a bus named Phred ('88 Wolfsburg) |
