What? There have been A/C motors in heavy VW's for 25 years before
switching. I have 160,000 miles on my '81 and I'd put it's repair
record up against any water-cooled Vanagon (how many heads have you had
to put on yours in 160,000 miles?).
Now, I also wouldn't retrofit an air-cooled motor either.
