Mike's runaway idle problem occurs even if you increase the rpm with your hand at the injection pump. The rpms increase and when you let (or force) the pump shaft to return, the rpms don't slow down. Turning off the key and restarting without touching the throttle, the idle is fine again. Removing the dipstick, there is no apparent blowby pressure in the block. Nate from the Diesel list suggested disconnecting the valve cover breather hose and this sounds like a good test to see if engine oil is being supplied as fuel through the intake. The engine has good power and in a Diesel Westy any power loss is noticeable. There is no unusual smoking. Any other ideas? Mark
