Flushing of those 81 Westys does go pretty quickly. Personally, I prefer some fluid that isn't as tepid as milk; cold, foamy root beer is a family favorite around here. There are two notable advantages to the waterboxers, heat in the winter and a/c cool in the summer. Did you ever consider why the waterboxers have 20-25 more horsepower than the air cooled engines? It could be so that the family Westy could patch out from any stop sign, but I suspect that the German engineers had seen Porsches once or twice, and knew the difference between them and our Vans.
