Lee, About the oil pressure light, see: <http://www.enter.net/~bloss/vw/oilpress.html> This is also mirrored at <http://www.vanagon.com/> under "problems." I've had the glowing oil pressure light ever since we got the van at 165K (now 183K). I added an oil pressure gauge and now just monitor what's going on; I recommend this for anyone. It's an old engine, but still makes decent oil pressure at running RPM, so I keep running & saving my pennies for a rebuild one of these days when P(psig) < RPM/100 consistently. -Karl Karl and Kristina Bloss, Trexlertown, PA '87 GL Weekender "Beverley" Mechanic list: http://www.enter.net/~bloss/vw/vwshops Busses by the Trail - Oct 15-17, 1999: http://www.enter.net/~bloss/vw/bbtt |
