Ok we have all (well most of us) at some time flat floored the gas pedal to see what she does. I used to, until fate intervened. I now have a motto which says 'Speed Kills - Don't >>>tank it $$$Bank it!' This means that the safer the speed (and that also means not driving to slow and annoying others so that they take chances overtaking) the less fuel is used, which can save money. Sorry if this sounds doomful :( however I would not like Vanagon list readers and their accident victims to experience the end of the world before their natural allotted time. The UK, where I live, has lots of countryside roads with hedges that block the views when driving in a car. I find that the fun of driving VW vans is the elevated driving position which gives improved visibility to enjoy the fantastic countryside. I also find that when driving the van in town, I feel more relaxed and 'in control' when driving whereas in the car I grip the wheel like wrench and feel exhausted at the end of the journey. |
