I have seen someone at a bug show use PVC, but it looked a little "Spanky & Alfalfa" to me. I don't know the diameter. Better, you may want to look in the junk yard for a first generation Jetta or second generation Sirocco. One of the two, (I don't remember which), has the fuel distributor/WAY over on one side of the hood, and a LONG plastic tube joining to the throttle body. You could use one tube, or join a pair of them in the middle, Frankenstein-style to achieve the length you need. The ends are pre-made to fit into the mating boots, and it will look smarter (maybe have better flow characteristics?) than an intake from Home Depot. Have fun. G. Nearing completion on the Westy, and looking for suggestions for the run between the fuel distributor and the throttle body. David Marshall's page said that he used 3" sewer pipe. How much modification is needed for this? Eyeballing it, it looks too big. Any and all suggestions accepted. TIA, Scott |
