Westies: The mechanic who removed my A/C compressor is away on leave, and the other mechanic who's now doing the work needs a coupla simple questions answered. Can you help, please? 1. The black wire on the top of the Sanden 508 compressor, which I suspect is the power for the clutch, gets connected to....what? No other electrical connections there, right? 2. Which engine pulley does the compressor belt get placed on? The middle pulley, or the "outermost-from-the-engine" pulley? I think the two pulleys mentioned are the same diameter, and they just serve to assist by providing flexibility in lining up the straightest path for the belt, but I don't know for sure. The mechanic won't guess - which I'm happy about, BTW. My Westy has an automatic, if that makes a difference. TIA, and kindest regards, Marshall Ruskin 84 Westy "Iron Igloo" Founding Member of "Vanagon's Anonymous" |
