Re:safety......what I thought of when I read your post was the possiblity of putting a EV front end and dual airbags on my '91 Westy Syncro(!!!!)

I've been in two head-collisions ( in other cars ), and I REALLY don't like them...... every so often I get fears about the seemingly vulnerable front end, but I've had my quota of head-ons ( neither of them were my fault by the way -- the other drivers were 1) asleep and 2) drunk ) -- and I know the Westy is much stronger than my fear tells me. What it really comes down to is that I trust my driving and the VW Vanagon Westfalia Camper is JUST SUCH AN AWESOMELY FUN AND WONDERFULLY DESIGNED HOME ON AND OFF THE ROAD.....that I've decided the advantages far outweigh the risks....

I know this doesn't answer your question, but to me your EV's modern safety features are it's best attributes.

Tony
