I too have a scary story about those people, this was at a gas station. My brothers wife was driving my Squareback (it was my brothers at that time), and got a flat tire, right front. She pulled into a gas station, in time before the tire went all out. She asked for help, and that little nerdish boy got out, pulled out a large floor jack, in order to jack the car up. he then placed the jack in the middle of the floor! Luckily, this went well, no damage done, but one should believe the gas station owner checked the personnel, so they at least know a few things about cars.

Which reminds me, a friend of mine worked at a gas station a few years back, while attending college. He had a stressed day, he was alone, and many customers. One woman asked him to top up the engine with water, and he did. Only thing is, he filled water through the filler hole on top of the engine!! Luckily for the woman, he recognized his mistake before she started the engine, but he had to give her a free oil change, of course.

This is why I prefer to do all work by myself, if possible.
