Subject: Santa Cruz Beach BOARDWALK ...WHAT A BLAST!!
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

HIA gang

I'm back from Santa Cruz.

The slightly under 500 mile, 4 day weekend trip went well. I didn't think to gauge my highway mileage, I'm guessing around 20'ish mpg.

My kids fished with their new fishing poles off of the Municipal pier... That was a kick, watching them reel in their catch...which were under size & we threw back...After great debates about buying and setting up a salt water aquarium. We devoured some clam chowder in sourdough bowls to make up for the fish being returned to their salt water home/ and families...giggles

We saw (2) evenings of concerts on the beach which they have each Friday (Sorry I can't recall who they were) and Saturday Night (The Coasters) BYOB because they charge $3.50 for a lg. can of beer Did I mention NO x-CHARGE for the concert?

Concerts take place all summer...Mostly gauged to 60's, 70's music... It was totally packed! A real nice family place to bring the kids.

When the concert was over the two singers reached into the crowd and shook hands with one of my twins (age 6) who is now "star struck"... Crying for me to buy the CD they had for sale at the end of the concert...lol

The 1907 Nights (Mondays & Tuesdays) offer.50 cent ride night...(Some rides are normally up to 6 tickets) You can also purchase HOT DOGS, SODA & COTTON CANDY for .50 cents on Monday & Tuesday nights. We had a great time. I hope someone else takes advantage of this info for their family when they are traveling out west.

I also want to mention we say more VW vans of all years then I have ever seen in one place... We lost count at somewhere around 50. One van had the windshield that lifted out horizontal... I heard of these but never saw one. Is this the elusive splitty?
