Subject: Experiences with synthetic brake fluid?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Fellows and Fellaws: Last weekend I changed the rear brake cylinders of my '84 westfalia. I was expecting to save some money by doing it myself and not giving the mechanic of my van (the guy that lets me drive my van when he is not working on her) more cash flow for traveling in his Coachman motorhome. I bought a pint of Valvoline synthetic brake fluid, it sates it is dot3 and dot4 compatible and mixable with regular fluid.

After bleeding, I found that there is never enough pressure in the pedal. Have bleed twice with same results. Things to look for??. Maybe forget savings and get it to the mechanic?
