Thanks for all the input on the three wire O2 sensor. I feel better about it now. I wasn't trying to cast doubt on the quality of other folks products, etc, just wanted to know if the splicing was a good idea or not. So it sounds like it is when properly soldered. I have a good plug setup from a Vanagon oxygen sensor so I might sell the universal one to customers that feel confident in thier soldering skills and sell a pre-soldered version (slightly more expensive) for those whose skills do not include soldering.
