Geez, that sucks.  That would make me go ballistic too.

My little contribution to this thread is that the one time I went to such a
place they didn't put the drain bolt back in properly, causing it to work
its way loose on the way home from there and fall off a block from my
driveway.  The oil light came on, I coasted home, found the bolt to be
missing, and vowed never to go back, no matter what my time constraints
were.  Luckily, there was no damage.
