He used size U1. Sears has it as a wheelchair battery, I forget the price. I think the one he used was labelled as a golf cart battery but not sure. It's pretty small for a golf cart battery. The one in Sears was labelled I think 31 amp-hours, but you'd get less in practical service, especially if you wanted it to last.
