I haven't been able to contact the seller by phone yet, so I'm turning to you, the Source of All Vanagon Lore, to answer this question: What is the layout of the ASI conversion? >>
ASI or "Automotive Services, Inc" was a camper conversion outfit located in WA state. there were a few different layouts they offered, not just one. The pop tops look similar to westys when down (luggage rack at front) but when popped, they pop straight up, not tilted like a westy. they have a vinyl canvas, and screening all around, in the top. All ASI's that had the propane stove, also came with a propane heater too. Another distinctive feature is the side window sceens are outside the windows. the layout is similar to a westy. ps, a friend of mine in philly pa has a '80 ASI camper for sale. if interested, email him at: cheilan@aol.com his name is frank
