Ken, the measurement your looking at is for the Temp sensor II. On page 24.20
the measurement for Temp Sensor I is on pin 14 and 6. My ohm measurement is
about 54 ohms. Reference page 24.28: The Temp Sensor I is in the Air Flow
Meter and the measurement is as I wrote below.
Since this measurement is off the graph, I think it is bad, but the unit is
expensive. Any ideas?

John I think your on the wrong page! It appears you are looking
at the digifant section, you want the digijet. Try page 24.20 in the
Bentley. It shows pins two and seven as being connected to the temp II
sensor.
If the sensor is bad (your are looking at the plastic blue sensor
,right?) just replace it. They are inexpesive and are prone to failure.
For 30 degrees celcius it should output 1750 +/- 250 ohms. At operating
temp it should be between 175 and 300 ohms.

Subject: temp sensor !--ohm value
I have been having power loss problems on my 85 vanagon and have been
che=
cking
various components with a multimeter. Re the Airflow meter, it checks
ou=

within specs. However, the temp sensor I should have a reading of
somewh=
ere
around 1500 ohms at 30 centegrade--when I take the reading it reads
about=
50
ohms. I let took it out and let it sit in the sun today and it then
rea=
d 40
ohms--its going in the right direction. I have been taking the reading
o=
ff
pin 1 and 4 (6 and 22) off the electrical connector. =
Question--could this be my problem; is the temp sensor I bad?
