I was wondering if anyone has a lead on '83-'85 cooling hoses for the engine compartment. About a year and a half ago, I asked around and found out that I could only get these from the dealer. Has this changed?

Also, there was a message posted to the list eons ago by someone who substituted Chevy hoses for VW ones in their 2.1L Wasserboxer. Has anyone tried something similar for the 1.9? I doubt that anyone can find a substitute for many of the hoses, such as the two that wrap around the top of the engine near the front, among others. However, if at least I can sub a few hoses, I can save some cash and still get some good quality hoses.

I'm in nomail mode, so please reply to all recipients. Thanks in advance!

Best, Sam
