You should have one bungied pole which slips into the 'padded edge', which is really a tube. Once this pole is slid through, it rests perfectly in the rain gutter. There are three clamps with wingnuts that hold the tube into the rain gutter. The clamps have a rubber pad that protects the underside of the gutter.

At least that's how mine works. I don't have a floor. Sniff.
