Sure, KOA's are the McDonalds of campgrounds. You don't typically go there when you want to sit in the woods and watch the wildlife, just like you don't go to McDonalds when you're in the mood for a really nice meal. But there are good reasons to go to a McDonalds once in a while (clean, consistant quality, fast service, good fries, cool Happy meal toys, you're hungry and There It Is), and good reasons to go to a KOA once in a while (clean, safe, good facilities, playground for the kids, you're tired and There It Is). And it's good to hear that there are some really nice ones, just like once in a while you find a really nice McDonalds (we've got one here in St. Louis that's a riverboat). I'm not a fan of KOA's myself, but they also serve who only pave a field and wait for the RV's to show up.
