I sell the VW OEM pads for $25 a set. These are semi-metalic and have the little VW symbol on them (and are therefore specially blessed by the VW priests at the factory) :) Also I can get you Metal Masters (PBR-Australian made) for $28 a set. These are full Metalic and are supposed to give better stopping but might be more wearing on the rotors. Stop by my shop here in Jersey for lessons on how to "safety wire" all the nuts on your Vanagon (plan to spend several days here at my commune). :) Ken Wilford Van-Again John 3:16
