Subject: Burping the fridge.
Content-Type: text/plain

I took the fridge out of my 84 Westy to replace the exterior fan a few weeks ago and I turned it this way and that way trying to get 12v to the inside for an interior fan. Of course I heard the gurgle gurgle gurgle each time I turned the thing over, but didn't think much of it. Now the fans work, but the fridge still doesn't cool so well. After reading the post below, I fear I upset the coolant balance. Anyone have advice about "burping" the fridge?

Brian Keese 84 Westy --------------------- My dad had a 3rd party refridg in his 71 Westy and it used to stop occasionally. He would pick it up and turn it upside down then back right again and it worked ok . Something about the way it works with the heat evaporating the coolant. If to much of the coolant gets on the wrong side of the thing it doesn't work right. You had to turn it the right direction to get the fluid to flow back to the correct side.

Sounds like you could have upset the balance of the coolant with your circus act.
