Lee, I am about to do the same myself, as I dont have that rear AC housing. As I hate to cut the panels in my car to mount speakers, I got some replacement panels from the junkyard. I got a good look behind the panel on that particular van, and the only problem I could seem to remember is the depth of the speaker. Just remember to control that before you cut the hole, other than that, you (and I) should do nicely with speakers in the rear panels.
