I had an O2 "event" this week is why that occurred to me. Just got through rebuilding my 87GL or so it seems....hmmm coming up on 1500 miles now. It was my first rebuild ever, so I'm feeling real proud! (Started working on the inside now, and still have the steering rack, and a/c to do). Anyway... The van had been running fine, and then one day I took it out and it jumped and hesitated greatly. I thought through my previous actions, as I had just been checking it out and bleeding the coolant. I remembered that I had pulled up the 02 wire because it was touching a hot spot. Sure enough, even though the wire "looked" connected, the rubber cover had put on enough pressure to loosen the connection inside! It was great to think that my hard efforts to "learn about" this car in the last year has maybe started to pay off! I really felt "connected" to the workings of the car finally. Good Luck!
