If the problem is solved with the driveshaft out, it shouldn't be the transaxle, except perhaps for the bearing at the driveshaft flange. I'd put my money on everything from the driveshaft up front. Check for dirt in the wheels, check for balanced wheels and tires, remove the viscous coupling but insert the driveshaft (if there are no vibrations with this set-up then the driveshaft should be ok, leaving the front diff, front axles and wheels). Put van on lift and "drive" it (if no more problems, it's probably not a drivetrain related problem at all). Sorry, no easy solutins. One thing is sure though: you'll be looking at the right thing at the very last :-) Sincerely Rainer '89 Caravelle GL Syncro 16" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- | Rainer M Woitok | Phone: (+49-9131) 85-27811,-27031 | | Regionales Rechenzentrum | | | Friedrich-Alexander-Universitaet | Fax : (+49-9131) 30 29 41 | | Martens-Strasse 1 | Telex: d 629 755 tf erl | | D-91058 Erlangen | | | Germany | Mail: Woitok@RRZE.Uni-Erlangen.DE | ---------------------------------------------------------------------- |
