I downloaded the pics from my digital cam to my web site and threw together a quick index page: http://www.enter.net/~bloss/vw/tbyt/ No particular order and, of course, biased towards what I found interesting. We drove up Friday and checked in around 3:30PM that afternoon. Lots of VW stuff going on in addition to the events. There's a nice shot of Larry Johnson donning his paper coveralls to crawl under his '86 Syncro Westy to try to find the fuel leak. It stopped and couldn't be reproduced, so let's hope they're not burned up somewhere between Mass and Ontario. Also, there's a shot of one Westy owner's BMW touring bike since he was in the area for a BMW rally. And I still like Jeremy's sticker "I beat up 4 hippies and all I got was this busted bus" on the yellow and white splittie parked with Wendy and John Silva. We had lots of folks marvelling, shaking their heads (while smiling), and threatening to steal our AC window unit that kept the inside of our van at a nice dry 75°F. The caravan up Mt. Greylock was fun and nobody threw a rod this year. Because of the heat, only about 30 buses went on the caravan ... they probably went swimming instead. Maybe next year we have to pick a different destination. It was a fun weekend. Thanks to the DiGennaros for putting it together yet again. Oh yeah, and to the driver of the orange baywindow Westie at Yankee Candle yesterday: I apologize for taking your parking spot. -Karl Karl and Kristina Bloss, Trexlertown, PA '87 GL Weekender "Beverley" Mechanic list: http://www.enter.net/~bloss/vw/vwshops Busses by the Trail - Oct 15-17, 1999: http://www.enter.net/~bloss/vw/bbtt PA/NJ Vanagon owner's mailing list: http://www.onelist.com/subscribe/pavanagon |
