Brian,
Deep Cycle batteries are designed to put out small amounts of power over a
long period of time.
Starter batteries are designed to put out large amounts of power over a very
short amount of time.
Both with do the job of the other, but not very well. And it will shorten
the battery life to ask it to do a job that it is not designed to do.
That said, there are combination batteries that are supposed to do both. I
don't have any experience or technical knowledge of these combination
batteries, but my experience with many other things in life are that one
size fits all = one size fits none very well.
And in the end you will be limited to what will fit into the battery box.
I wanted to use a sealed starter battery under the passenger seat but could
not find one that would fit the box.
Good Luck
