remember my sporadic overheating problems that culminated in engine noise I assumed was the water pump? removed water pump belt, still squealing, not the water pump swapped in new tensioner pulley, still squealing, not the tensioner pulley not exactly squealing actually: this is an intermittent chirping/chattering at the rear of the engine when the engine is running, generally at lower rpms definitely sounds like metal on metal - bearing noise sounds loudest around the crank pulley is there a bearing in there? main seal? crank bearing???!!! any suggestions? I'm pretty well at the limits of my "expertise" thanks very much Rolf |
