Hi Volks, I just this minute returned from a week long trip. About an hour into the last leg home, the power faded, not bucked or stopped, but just faded. It was like meeting a light head wind, very subtle. I let up on the accelerator and I regained power. Pushed down on the pedal and power dropped off. This continued for a few miles until I let off all the way on the pedal then floored it. Problem solved. Drove the last 100 miles home trouble free and at full power. Any ideas? I thought at first it might be the AFM. But, I don't see how that could have been reset (?) or other wise affected by the gas pedal. I really don't think the vanes in the air box had time to react. I'm thinking now it might be the ECU. I'll look at Bentley and Probst tomorrow to see what might have happened. IF anyone has any ideas, I would love to hear them. BTW, the air box has had the capacitor mod done. TIA Fred 89 Westy |
