My '84 manual says REGULAR, unleaded only. Under high load operating conditions, high test may be used. Gasohol may be used if no more than 10% ethanol. Do not use any fuel with octane less than 87 (US grading) or 91 (European/Research Octane Number).

Doesn't mention methanol but I'm sure it's forbidden.

Don't think oxygenated fuels existed in '84 -- anyway, AFAIK you don't have much choice in the matter, you have to use them during winter (I presume this varies from place to place).
