David, I installed our D750 on its side with the posts pointed forward. To fit the battery into the box, I cut off the metal tab from the front edge of the battery box. I also removed the metal lid by drilling out the pop rivets. For safety, I used rubber battery post covers over the +ve and -ve post connectors. After installation, I reattached the battery box lid with new pop rivets. Larry Johnson
