There was a thread earlier about adding a grab handle on the drivers side. Somebody made the mistake of drilling the wires. Proper procedure was drilling a small hole then putting a guide wire in to hold the wires back. Do a search for more details. It should be the same procedure. You'd still have to find the brackets of an older westy and modify the cot.
