Thanks for the clarification. Finally, someone cut to the chase. I read most of the postings from the archives, but for whatever reason (I'm not an electrician, etc,) did not glean this simple fact from them. ( That a drained aux battery will draw more power than the wiring is capable of safely handling.)

I understood that this stock wiring comes from the front of the vehicle and not directly from the starter battery/alt....Anyway, I agree that the FAQ should be changed. It sounds quite authoritative and logical. I guess that's what many listmembers are good at, IMHO.;>)

I'll wait until I have time to do it right. In the mean time, I'll wear out my starter battery, I suppose.
