My temp guage stays within 1/4 to 1/3 from the left--the only time it passed halfway was when a long coolant pipe disintegrated. Check the archives--I think you'll find many posts on this, most showing quite a range. I pretend not to be concerned about my oddly low-indicating guage because it does operate consistantly (needle goes up at when idling at a stop light after getting off the highway, goes down when coasting at 50 down long, woodsy grades, etc.).
