Congrats on yet another Vanagon.

For tires the place that I have scoped out to be the
best deal in the tirerack at www.tirerack.com.  What
you want to get for our beloved Vanagons are the
Michelin MXT 205/70R14 with reinforced sidewalls, if
yours takes the 205 size (with the mag wheels) other
than that you would take the 185/70R14 again with the
reinforced.  Michelin makes one and so does
Continental - although the Conties are pretty crappy
on  slippery surfaces (from my experience in Utah in
the snow)

OK for the best carpeting deal try the GO Westy web
site at www.gowesty.com  They seem to have lots of
choices and custom carpeting.  Top notch quality for
those tough wear areas.
