I have the original VW one, the Skylight Guy one, and the single-layer U.S. made one. Those are the only three out there, so I've had experience with them all. I periodically get a call from someone who is having difficulty making his replacement line up. This happens _very_ infrequently. Interestingly, some of these people have purchased the original one, others an aftermarket one. Some have purchased a gasket from me and not called back subsequently with further problems, although others seem to have worked it out without buying a gasket. The complaints have been infrequent enough and so scattered among the different skylight versions purchased that I have been unable to identify a cause. Shrinkage of the gasket over time is one possibility, or else minor sample to sample variation of the skylights (any brand), the hole in the roof, or the line up of the flex-arm might be another. In any event the problem rate has been low and not severe enough that anyone has actually returned a skylight due to inability to fit it.
