To recap: I purchased a Syncro with a bad engine for the purpose of converting to another engine.

I just received my Subaru 2.2. It is truly a thing of beauty. Hope it works and that all the required parts are there. Never in my life have I seen such an excellent packing job! There was no possible way of damaging this engine in transit. Well worth the packing charge.

So far my experience with the outfit that I purchased the engine from has been very favourable. A little pricey, but they did what they said for when they said. They ship everywhere and they have a large inventory. http://www.fsautoparts.com They are in Conneticut somewhere.

I'm still awaiting the adaption kit which is supposed to ship on Monday. Kennedy has a 2-3 week turnaround on these kits. I asked them if it was a big seller. They said "not really, only about 100 in the last two years". Their big business is any-engine-to-any-tranny adapters.

So, now all I have to do is paint the whole house <argh>, and then I'm free to play with my new toys:-}

...Markus
