Isn't it great that VW gave us something so complicated and mysterious to occupy our time! Too bad the thing is next to useless.

In my '84 the brown (fan) and black (switch) wires from the terminal block both go to same +12V source. Maybe the PO rewired it, who knows. I'll rewire it with a switch to the wire that powers the control panel, the fan does work!

And, according to my VW/Westfalia manual, the fuse block behind the driver's seat has a 16 amp fuse for the refrigerator and an 8 amp fuse for the water pump and lights in the control panel. These were reversed in mine, so check yours.

My Westy and its donor vehicle both must have been made on a Monday! (It actually was a warranty buy back with a fuel injection problem. I found that the switch that detects a closed throttle was mis-adjusted at the factory by three turns, the paint mark was unbroken!)
