Hello In January, my water pump failed. I replaced it and all of the short coolant lines around the engine compartment. For flushing purposes, I also disconnected the two large hoses that connect the radiator to the long plastic coated pipes (never again!). One of the two hoses popped off a week later (in a really bad neighborhood too). After reconnecting, I noticed slow leaks from both hose connections. After a couple of weeks of trying different tensions on the clamps, I finally put two clamps on each hose. Leaks stopped. Well, now one of them has a slow leak again. Argh!!! About an inch of the plastic had disintegrated and broken off one pipe, but that's not the leaking one. Any ideas on how to stop this !@#$%^ leak? Thanks, Vernon Craddock '90 Standard Vanagon |
