Just noticed that my '84's lug wrench is cracked along two of the inside corners. Took a look at the '85, same thing -- only one corner but longer crack. All three full-depth. Might be a good time to take a look at yours... I ground out the cracks and welded them (E70S-6 wire), and built up the sockets to about triple thickness. No idea how well they will hold up, but they pass the "remove a set of tight nuts by standing on the wrench" test. Anyone care to venture an opinion? david David Beierl - dbeierl@ibm.net |
