Hy, I had to replace the links on my '80 last year. It was the first time. Both links were broken and I search for some good ones on local salvage yards, but 50% are unusable. On the local yard they asked 10 USD for two used links. I took some pictures and sent them to Martin Jagersand who already offers a web site about this common failure. The URL for the link is http://www.cs.rochester.edu:80/u/jag/vw/body/swaybar.html If you need to have the pictures, too, I will send them as privat mail. There are two kind of links, those curved ones on the early, and straight ones on the later Vanagons. I only heard that the curved one will brake some time, not the straight. But they are not replaceable. Helmut '80 Vanagaudi |
