I’m about to swap out a tranny from one Syncro to another. I have read mention of the need to index your drive shaft when removing it for universal joint repair. Indeed, on my westy when I look at the connection between the tranny and shaft, I see a bit of white paint on a U joint bolt and on the output shaft flange of the tranny. But, how do you index a different tranny going into a syncro with the drive shaft in place? Do you need to align somehow? TIA, Raúl Cisneros 86 Syncro GL 87 Syncro Westy
