Subject:  New Carver P4 Propane or rebuilt EBERSPACHER gasoline I am looking into purchasing a heater for my 85 westy and want to know what others have done or would suggest, and who to, or not to, do business with.


This is my understanding of the heater selection so far:


The two units which seem the best ( power vs. $ vs. size) are Carvers P4 propane powered unit ($750 brand new with remote thermostat). And the other is an EBERSPACHER gasoline powered unit ($750 rebuilt with remote programmable thermostat) from a guy in NJ HEATERMAN@NAC.NET  . The EBERSPACHER is a lot more powerful, more efficient, but is a rebuilt unit which is probably hard to get parts for.
