Subject: tan captains chairs w/ adjustable armrests/swival seat fyi's
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

here's a fyi, as i get alot of requests for this. 1987 was the ONLY year that the TAN velour vanagon front seats ("captains chairs" as some call them) had the folding ADJUSTABLE armrests. just one year.

the '83.5-'86 TAN velour "captains chairs" have folding armrests, but they arent adjustable. (not really a big deal, IMO) also- '87 was the LAST year for the TAN interior. all '88-'91 US model Vanagons and campers had grey interiors.

here's another fyi - there is no such thing as "swival seats". there are SWIVAL SEAT MECHANISMS, that are a 3 piece mechanism (base) that is bolted together and then welded to your camper's body at the factory, but they are NOT part of the seat. ANY vanagon seat will work with these mechanisms. for those who want to add these mechanisms to your passenger van, you CAN do it easily (i put some in my '84 7 passenger Vanagon) but you HAVE to weld them to your body. not hard tho, just a few spot welds down each side, in the same place as the original spot welds, and that was it.

hope this clears up a few things chris
