for those of you entertaining the idea of putting solar panels on top of your camper, check out the August 1999 issue of Trailer Life magazine ... it has a hot air balloon on the cover. they have an article this month (and a follow-up article next month) on three different types of solar panels and how much they produce.

also an article about a power converter (to change the campground 120volts to 12volts DC, so you can charge your batteries that way if you choose. just a thought.

be mindful that NONE of the RV 'accessories' is cheap. :( but i've traveled in a vw bus with ONE solar panel on top, charging two deep cycle batteries, and we ran the fridge (12volts only) all day and all night for seven days on that setup. i was impressed.
